DESIGN FOR A KNITTED FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,072, dated December 21, 1880. Application led November ll), 1880. Terni ofpatent 7 years.
To all whom It may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. LANDEN BERGER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, lennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Knitted Fabric, of which the Iollowing is a specitic-ation.
My design for a knitted fabric is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
The body ot the fabric comprises parallel pillars or columns a, each of which consists, essentially, o' hunched loops, minor features of each pillar heilig the opposite scalloped edges b, formed by lateralLv-projeoiing loops, the scalloped edges of one pillar joining the scalloped edges of the adjacent pillars. The fringe comprises pendants d, composed of plain threads, these pendants alternating with pendants f, consisting of threads waved laterally and confined in this waved form by a central row of stitches.
Irrespective of the colors employed, I claim- 1. The within-described design for a knitted fabric, said design comprising the parallel pillars or columns fr., each bnnched loops, all substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for a knitted fabric, said den sign comprising the parallel pillars or col ulnns a, consisting of hunched loops, and having scalloped edges l), as shown and described.
3. The design for a knitted fabric, said design comprising the pillars u, and the fringe consisting of pendants Z of plain threads, and pendants fof waved threads, as shown and described.
