DESIGN.

Hair-Net.
Patented Sep. 3, 1872.
UNITED STATES PATENT Orrror THOMAS OFFICER, OF BROOKLYN, ASSIGNOR TO ABRAHAM G. JENNINGE OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR HAIR-NET.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,118, dated September 3, 1872.
Specification describing a new Design for Ladies Hair-Nets, invented by THOMAS OF- FrcER, of Brooklyn, county of Kings and State of New York.
The drawing shows a diagram which illus trates my new design.
This invention relates to a new form of pillar or mesh for ladies hair-nets; and consists in making each pillar of six threads, of which two form a chain and the remaining four a a sort of zigzag braid within the chain, producing thus a novel and ornamental form of pillar.
a and bin the drawing represent the threads forming the pillar-chains. These two threads are intertwined and connected where they cross each other so as to form loops 0 c between them, the succession of loops forming the chains in the pillars. d ande are two parallel threads laid over the chain, and held in place thereonby two other threads, f and g, which are similarly placed under the chain.
At about the middle of each loop 0 each thre.
f is carried up and once around the thread next above, and in the same manner the thre g is carried up, over, and around 0. The 100 thus formed by the lower threadsf and g a clearly shown in the drawing. The threads I are in the same manner carried down a. around the threads (1 0, respectively, to he them in place.
The net of this construction is lnanufactur on a lacemachine with a proper arrangeme of cards, in manner similar to that in whi hair-nets are nsualy made on braiding-n chines.
What I claim as new is- The design for the pillars of a ladys ha net, as set forth.
