DESIGN FOR SASH-LIFT.
Specification formingrpart of Design No. 5,347, dated October 31, 1871.
To all whom` `it may concern.:
Be it known that I, ADOLPH XVUNDER, of the city and county ot' New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and orig inal Design for SaslrLitt; and I do herebyv declare the lbllowing, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters oi' releremze marked thereol'i, to be a full, clear, and exact description, and which said drawing; constitutes part ot' this specification and represents a front View.
This invention relates to a design for the arti cle of nnmuieture known to the trade as sash` lifts," that is, a device to be attached to the bottoni rail of' the lower sash, to serve as a handle by which to raise or lower the Window-sash 5 and it consists in the peculiar configuration of the plate, as shown, and as more fully hereinafter described.
The outer sides of the plate are straight and at right angles to each other; but the corners or angles are recessed and filled by a segment of a circle in the said recess, the opening or recess which forms the lift having parallel sides with curved ends, as fully shown in the accompanyin g illustration. Around the outer edge of' the plate l forni a plain raised edge, and a similar edge around the recess, thus giving to the snrt'ace of the plate the appearance of a sunken panel. The panel itself may be matted or otherwise finished, and ornamented bytraeingor not, to suit the market. The edges and oriianlentation (if any) are 1l ush, so as to be polished or smoothed off together.
I claim- The design for sashlift, substantially as described and shown in the accompanyingillustration.
