JOHN R. ROSE AND EDWARD L. OALELY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENN SYLVA- NIA, ASSIGNORS TO COX, WHITEMAN & OOX, OF SAME PLAGE.
Design No. 4,902, dated May 9, 1871.
DESIGN FOR PLATES OF A COOKING-STOVE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters atent and making part of the same.
We, JoHN R. ROSE and EDWARD L. OALnLY,'of the city of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for the Plates of a Cooking-Stove, of which the following is a specitication.
The nature of our design is fully represented iu the accompanying photographic illustrations and diagrams, to which reference is made.
The ornaments for the top plate A, the ash-pit plate B, and the bottom plate O, consist of the respective edge-moldings a b c', as shown in perspective by the photographic representations, and in transverse section by the diagrams l 2 3.
The ornaments for each of the several door-plates of the stove consist of a bass-relief central figure, substantially in the form of an elongated Maltese cross, D, on a raised convex surface, dl, the base of which latter has four curved sides rising from a Hat rectangular plane, d2, whose side and end boundaries are parallel with the edge-moldings cl3 ofthe door-plate.
On the Hat surface which is between the edge-molding cl3 and the rectangular plane d2 there is an ornamental border, d, consisting of numerous bass-relief points or elevations arranged in lines crossing each other like lattice-work.
For identification we name this stove superb cook.
