DESIGN FOR A SOLlTAlRE-GEM-SETTING FINGER-RING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,745, dated February 18, 1902. Application filed August 7,1901. Serial No. 71,277- Term of patent I4 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES T. WITTSTEIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Solitaire-Gem-Setting Finger-Ring, of which the followingis aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a View in side elevation of a ring of my new and original design; Fig. 2, a view in edge elevation thereof, and Fig. 3 a plan view thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a rim-form bezel a and open-work I) supporting the same, said open-work comprising two diametrically opposite (with reference to'the rim a) standards 0, lying in the plane of the ring-body d, and two diametrically opposite standards 0, arranged in a transverse plane, the standards beingseparated by horizontallydisposed diagonally-extending intersecting perforations c c and the bases of said standards blending with the body of the ring. The
open-work is upwardly flaring, and the rim a likewise has an inner surface, which is upwardly flaring to receive the brilliant.
Minor features of my design are the cuts, crevices, or perforationsfat the upper ends of the standard s,fianked by oppositely-curved scrolls or beadsf,and a central vertical perforation g at the upper portion of the ring-body and having its axis coincident With the Vertioal axis of the ring-body. The lower walls of the perforations c c are curved or dished, and the upper walls or portions thereof are formed by the rim a.
