D ESIGN.
no. s5,o40. Patented Sept. 3, l90l.
H. HANDY. CAKE 0R BREAD PAN.
(Application filed Aug. 9, 1901.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY HANDY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A CAKE OR BREAD PAN.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 35,040, dated September 3, 1901.
Application filed August 2, 1901. Serial No. 70,676- Term of patent 7 years.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY HANDY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cake or Bread Pans, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which- Figure l is a top or plan view of a bread or cake pan, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a sectional view on the line 00 ac of Fig. 1.
As illustrated in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the substantially rectangular outer wall of the pan, which is convoluted and slightly tapering from the top to the bottom, and the inner rectangular wall inclosed by the outer rectangular 'wall and substantially straight from top to bottom. Thus as illustrated in plan in Fig. 1 the pan has the appearance of two parallel rectangles, of which the outer one, a, is convoluted or scalloped and the in* ner one, I), is straight or geometrical. As viewed in section, from a central rectangular opening (1 in the fiat base 01 of the pan project upward the walls I) of the inner rectangle I), while from the outer perimeter of the fiat base d the convoluted walls a of the outer rectangle Ct project upward in divergent planes; but the Walls a do not extend upward as far as the walls I).
Having thus described my invention, what Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design fora cake or bread pan, substan= tially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
HENRY HANDY.
