To all 1072 0122 it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALFRED H. WITTSTEIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for a Solitaire-Gem Setting, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure l is a view in side elevation of a solitaire-gem setting of my new and original design; Fig. 2, a plan view thereof, and Fig. 3 a vertical section taken as indicated at line 3 of Fig. 2.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a rim Ct and open-work A, supporting the same and having prongs a projecting above said rim, said rim and prongs comprising the bezel.
Minor features of my design are the dished form of the open-work A, the perforations a having-curved lower walls and portions of their upper walls formed by the rim to, the perfora tions or cuts a at the upper portions of the standards a of the open-work, the beads a upon said standards, and the supporting-base a", comprising the frustum of a hollow cone.
It is apparent that this design is applicable to solitaire-settings on finger-rings, shirtstuds, ear-rings, scarf-pins, and otherlike articles of adornment.
