Description

DESIGN No. 35,6!2. Patented Jan. 28, I902.
F. a. DIETZ. g GARMENT SUPPORTER.
(Application filed Dec. 5, 1901.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANCIS G. DIETZ, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A GARMENT-SUPPORTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,612, dated January 28, 1902. Application filed December 5,1901. Serial No. 84,835. Term ofpatent 14 years.
To (all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANCIS G. DrETZ,a citizen of the United States, residin g at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Garment-Supporters, of which the following is a specification.
The characteristic feature of my invention is the design for a garment-supporter made the subject of the illustration in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a garmentsupporter made according to my design. Fig. 2 is a top plan view, and Fig.3is an edge view of the same. i
As shown in the drawings, the garment-supporter made according to my design consists of a base 1 and a hook 2, leading outwardly therefrom. The base 1 is made from a fiat strip of material bent at a point intermediate its ends to form the two substantially parallel sides 3 and 4. The outer edge of the side 3 projects beyond the corresponding edge of the side 4 and is provided with a plurality of elongated openings 5. The side 4 is provided on its inner surface with a longitudinally-extending groove 6, the same being parallel to the outer edge of said side and forming on the outer surface of the same a rib or projection 7. In the groove 6 the inner end of the hook 2 fits and is secured, the rivets 8 extending inwardly beyond the plane of the hook 2 and the plane of the side 4, forming projections 9. The hook 2 extends upwardly above the upper edge of the side 4 and is then bent downwardly in a plane at right angles to the side 4 to form aloop 10. It is then bent downwardly and upwardly in the plane parallel to the side 4 to form the loop 11. It extends up to a point above the plane of the loop 10 and is again bent downwardly in a plane at right angles to the side 4 to form the loop 12.
Having now described myinvention, what I claim is- The design for a garment-supporter, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
FRANCIS G. DIETZ. Witnesses:
O. E. JOHNSTON, FRED. L. H. MALLET.
