Description

DESEGN.
no. 34,96l. Patented Aug. 20, 19m.
0. KRMIS. NEGKTIE FASTENEB.
1 (Application filnd July 8, 1901.)
IN VENTOH WITNESSES UNITED STATES OTTO KRAUS, OF
PATENT OFFICE.
NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A NECKTlE-FASTENER.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OTTO KRAUS, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, in the city and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Necktie-Fastener, of which the following is a specification.
The subject of the present invention is a new and original design or configuration for a necktie-fastener.
The prominent or conspicuous features of the said design are embodied in a length or section of Wire presenting a spring-eye open on one side, a tongue with a closed end, the tongue arranged behind the spring-eye and the closed end located opposite the open side of the eye, and a pair of arms on each side of said eye and tongue, one of said arms extending in a plane to the rear of the other.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure 1 is an elevation of a necktie-fastener embodying my new and original design. Fig. 2 is a side view thereof, and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the same.
As shown, a single piece or length of wire is confignrated to present the eye or button-engaging portion a, open on one side 6, a tongue 0, with a closed end cl, being also present and arranged behind the spring-eye with its closed end opposite the open end of the eye, and a pair of arms 6 f on each side of said eye, one of the armsf of each pair being in a plane to the rear of its companion arm 8. In the representation, however, of the new and original design for a necktie-fastener the lower end of the tongue is shown as oppositely bent or beveled, as indicated at g. The arms e are each also shown as having a lateral bend or ofiset h. It will also be noted that the portions presenting the eye a stand at an inclination relative to the vertical plane occupied by the arms 6, and hence there is a wider connection between said portions and said arms at their base than occurs between the juncture of said portions with the spring-tongue.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a necktie-fastener as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of the subscribing witnesses.
OTTO KRAUS.
