To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALFRED PLANT, a citizen of the Uni ted States, residing at Keyport, in the county of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Tiling; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and

This invention relates to tiling, and in the accompanying drawingsFignre 1 is a plan View showing my new design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of my tiling.
The design consists of the combination of two square blocks of the same size, but showing difierent figures, and placed so that similar blocks touch at the corners. The blocks are made up of a plurality of small square and oblong rectangular pieces laid closely together. The essential feature in the distinctive ornamentation of each block is hereinafter set forth.
One block A consists of two narrow parallel marginal bands a b, an intermediate wider band 0, two inner narrow parallel bands cf, having reentrant angles at the corners and square spots g in the square spaces at, into which the band c enlarges at the corners. The center h'thus has a cruciform shape with very short arms. The other block B has an outer margin of square blocks 2', equaling in width the two bands ab, two narrow bands 7C1, similar to the bands a b, a wider band m, then two narrow bands 'n 0, similar to is Z, and a square center 19. These blocks A B are so grouped that they alternate with one another, the corners of similar blocks touching.
Having thus described my invention, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for tiling, substantially as herein shown and described.
