UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD MIKKELSEN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A GAME-BOARD.
SPECIFICATION formingpart Of Design No. 35,131, dated September 24, 1901.
, Application filed August 29, 1901- Se'rlal No. 731760. Term of patent 3% years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD MIKKELSEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, Cook county, State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for aGame-Board; and I do hereby declare that the following is a specification thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the reference characters marked thereon, and in which Figure 1 is a plan view of a game-board embodying my design; Fig. 2, a cross-section thereof, taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The game board embodying my design shown in the accompanying drawings comprises a comparatively thin square board A, surrounded by a frame B, the latter being provided with a groove b,extending around its inner vertical face, which receives the edges of the board. The corners of the board are cut away and net is secured in the openings surrounded by the corners of the frame and the edges of the board, thereby forming pockets.
The surface of the board is provided with a series of lines a, a and a arranged parallel with the sides of the frame, such lines being connected to form squares, one Within another. The lines forming the squares consist in a series of dashes, small diamonds, and circles. Within the corners of the largest square are located ornamental scroll designs, and centrally within the inner square, with its sides arranged parallel to the sides of the surrounding square, is located a checkerboard comprising a number of small squares, so arranged as to have blank squares corresponding in size to and interposed between the small squares.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a game-board, as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto sub scribed my name in the presence of two subscribing Witnesses.
GEO. L. WILKINSON, CLARA C. CUNNINGHAM.
