Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
OTTO F. BARTEL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO THE BRUNSWICK- BALKE-OOLLENDER 00., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BlLLlARD-TABLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,493, dated. May 7, 1901.
Application filed March 27, 1901. fierial N0. 53,14'7- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, OTTO F. BARTEL, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Billiard-Tables, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of my new design of billiard-table. Fig. 2 is an end elevation of the same.
In both views the same referencedetters designate the same parts.
A is the usual bed member, and B the cushion-rail member, which members surmount a body portion 0, which extends downwardly from the cushion-rail member to an ornamental base member D, which latter is supported on a series of short feet-like members g, that rest upon the floor, all as clearly illustrated in the drawings.
The body member 0 of the table is in profile (or in vertical cross-section) of ogee form, the convex portion of the ogee being uppermost, while the concave portion runs downwardly to the base member D, the distinguishing or characteristic feature of the new design being the solid or, in other words, continuous body portion C, of ogee form, which extends from the usual cushion-rail member B clear down to the shallow base D, as clearly illustrated, the new design thus presenting the unique appearance of two long and two shorter table sides running from the cushionrail clear down to near the floor, each one of said sides presenting the same ogee shape or configuration, and their meeting edges at the four corners of the table-body presenting also the ogee shape or appearance, these four 40 ogee-shaped sides or, in other words, the entire ogee-shaped body portion of the table not having the continuity of this ogee shape broken or changed at any point around the whole body of the table.
Having now set forth my new design and invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A billiard-table of the design shown and described, the characteristic feature of which is a body portion O, the exterior surface of which is of ogee shape in profile, or in vertical section, at any point; and which extends from the cushion-rail member clear down to the base of the table; as set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 16th day of March, 1901.
OTTO F. BARTEL.
In presence of- O. R. ROGERS, J. O. SOHANK.
