PENCIL HOLDER. {Applicltiun filed. Fob. B, 1901.)
Wane 00% 1 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD V. DUBRAVSKY AND WILLIAM F. OLEARY, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT; SAID OLEAR-Y ASSIGNOR TO EDWARD T. OLEARY,
OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A PENCIL-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,262, dated March 26, 1901. Application filed February 6, 1901. Serial No. 46,277. Term of patent '7 yea rs.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that we, EDWARD v. DUBRAV- SKY, a subject of the Emperorof Austria-Hungary, and WILLIAM F. OLEARY, a citizen of the United States, both residents of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Pencil- Holders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 shows a front perspective view of our novel design for pencil-holders. Fig. 2 is a rear view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of our design consists in a plain-surfaced pencil-holder,as herein shown, adapted for attachment to a garment, as will now be described in detail.
The holder proper consists of a plain open cylindrical tube A wit-l1 the upper and lower edges gracefully flared outward, as at B B. The main body of the holder, to which this tubular portion is attached, constitutes a central portion C, which is shown raised and formed upon the main member D of the tool, which latter comprises a thin flat plain-surfaced vertically-disposed part. Ribs J J appear upon the rear of the central portion of the instrument, as shown in Fig. 2, and form continuations of the raised portion C, before mentioned. This main body D is widest intermediate of its two ends, its breadth being contracted above and below the middle with concavo-convex edges E to the parallel vertical edges which appear on both ends of the tool. The upper end of both sides of one edge of the tool is beveled off, as at F, and is pointed, as at- G. The lower section of this main portion is split or divided into two members H and I, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3. The ends of both of these members are cut off straight at a right angle tothe main portion, and the rearone, H, is provided with a transverse convex rib J. Otherwise both members are perfectly plain, as shown in the drawings.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a pencil-holder, as herein shown and described.
Signed at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, this 26th day of February, A. D. 1901.
