DESIG N.
No. 34,l75. Patented Mar. 5, l90l. D. S. WEGG. 9 CEILING LIGHT.
(Appliutipn filed Dec. 24, 1900.)
I F WITNESSES: INVENTOR gmwa mm 7a W0 53 Wig/"g B M4? Z ATTORN EY UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DAVID S. WEGG, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A CEILING-LIGHT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,175, dated March 5, 1901.
Application filed December 24, 1900. Serial No. 40,986. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that 1, DAVID S. WEGG, a cit-i- Zen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ceiling-Lights, of which the following is a specification.
My new design relates to that class of illuminating-fixtures which are directly under the ceiling or against the walls of a room and are known in the trade as ceiling-lights.
The accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, show my newly-designed ceiling-light.
Figure 1 is a side view, and Fig. 2 is an inverted plan view as seen directly from underneath.
1 is the so-called holder.
2 is a glass dish, round in cross-section, of peculiar shape and of a translucent opalescent glass roughed on its inner surface. The
To conceal the so-called holder as much as possible, I shape the dish with a flaring flange 3 at the top. The outline of the dish then continues outward and downward in a circular curve. At the lowest point of this curve and on a vertical line with the center 0 thereof the outline continues toward the center of the dish in a concaved curve, as shown by the dotted lines in Fig. 1, forming an annular concavity around the central point 4, which has the shape of an inverted cone.
The ceiling-light shown and described has a pleasing and ornamental appearance.
Such being a description of my newly-invented design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a ceiling-light as herein shown and described.
Signed at Chicago, in the county of Cook and Sate of Illinois, this 19th day of December, A. D. 1900.
