UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDGAR HERBERT GRANT, OF MARSHALL, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A SIGN-BOARD AND HOLDER FOR MAIL-BOXES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,997, dated January 29, 1901.
Application filed December 26, 1900. Serial No. 41,172. Term of patent '7 years.
1'0 a/Z whont it rntty concern:
Be it known that 1, EDGAR HERBERT GRANT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Marshall, in the county of Calhoun and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Sign-Board aDd Holder for Mail-Boxes; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a rural guide or sign-board and holder for mail-boxes, and the general features of the design are clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of the rural guide; Fig. 2, a central vertical section, and Fig. 3 a central longitudinal section.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the rectangular outlined board having a border B about the edge thereof. On the face of the border of the board, atpoints opposite each other and at equal distances from the longitudinal edges of the board, are the ornamental circular outlined rosettes D. At a suitable location above the center of the board is an elongated curve-ended aperture E, and extending between one edge of said elongated aperture in the inner edge of the lower longitudinal portion of the border is a rectangular outlined strip F. Projecting downward from the lower margin of the board and behind each rosette are rectangular outlined supporting-legs.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim to be new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a sign-board and holder for mail-boxes, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ED GAR HERBERT GRANT.
