DESIGN FOR A LETTER-FILE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,316, dated July 6, 1897. Application filed May 25, 1897. Serial No. 638,161. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that 1, JOHN KASCHENBACH, a citizen of the United States, residing at \Vilkes-liarr, in the county of Luzerne and State of lennsylvaiiia,have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Letter-Files; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exactdeseription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appcrtains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to a new and original design for letter-files upon which suitable or desired advertising matter is adapted to be displayed; and it consists of a file of the con figuration and ornamentation shown in the accompanying drawing, in which I have represented my invention in perspective.
The leading features of the design consist in a base-board 1, having parallel vertical edges 2 and a straight horizontal lower edge The top of the board is curved in the form of a scrollwork of the character shown in the drawing, while below the upper edge and projecting laterally from the board are two hooks adapted to receive and hold the filed letters. The space between the hooks and the top edge of the board is adapted to receive and display advertising matter.
The device is exceedingly simple, may be made at small cost, and is highly ornamental.
\Vhat I claim is The design fora letter-file, as herein shown and described.
