DESIGN FOR A STIRRUP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,254, dated February 20, 1900.
Application flied January 11, 1900. Serial No. 1,154. Term of patent '7 years.
To a/Z whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FOEEsT E. GOODMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waco, in the county of McLennan and State of Texas, have invented and prod uced a certain new and original Design for Stirrups; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention relates to a new and original design for stirrups; and it consists of a stirrup of the shape and configuration shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective View of the stirrup. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional View. Fig. 3 is a similar View taken at right angles to Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a transverse sectional view looking downward.
The leading feature of the design resides in a stirrup-body of approximate U shape, the upright side arms a of which are sigmoidally curved and the cross or foot piece l) of which is curved longitudinally and arched or conn vexed laterally and formed with apertures c. The upright arms have on their vexterior surfaces longitudinal swells or ribs d, the lower ends of which merge into the surfaces of the BIFIDS.
c denotes a tubular cross-piece located loe tween the eXtreme upper ends of the upright pieces of the U-shaped frame and communieating with apertures f in the upper ends of the upright pieces and provided on its upper side with a longitudinal aperture g.
What I claim is Y The design for a stirrup, substantially as herein shown and described.
