DESIGN FOR A CARPET-STRETCHER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,881, dated April 13, 1897. Application filed February 17, 1897. Serial No. 623,382- Term of patent '7 years.
To all whorl-2 it incty concern.-
lie it known that we, HOMER (J. IIILL and SAMUEL SEE MwnLn'roN, citizens of the United States, residing at Clinton, in the county of De Witt and State of Illinois, have invented a new and original Design for a CarpetStreteher; and We do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
In the accompanying dnawings, which illustrate a carpet-stretcher embodying our design, Figure 1 is an upper perspective view of the article. Fig. 2 is a lower perspective view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a central longitudinal section through the article shown in perspective in Figs. 1 and 2.
Our design consists, essentially, of a carpet-stretcher comprising a head-piece having a convexed upper surface and a sharp forward edge, a pair of curved legs extending rearwardly from the opposite ends of the said head-piece, said legs beingfsimilar and first converging and then diverging and'terminating in downwardly-curved and sharpened points, and a cross-piece connecting said legs at or about the point where they approach each other the nearest, as shown in the acco1n1')anying drawings, wherein A represents the head-piece having converted upper surface a and sharpened forward edge a.

In Figs. 2 and 3 the under face of the headpiece is shown as concaved at a, but this is not essential to the design.
What we claim is The design for a carpet-stretcher, substantially as herein shown and described.
