Be it known that we, FRANCIS EDGAR STAN- LEY and FEEELAN OSCAR STANLEY, citizens of the United States, residing at Newton, in 5 the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Driving-Axles for Locomobiles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompao nying drawing, forming part thereof.
In the accompanying drawing our new design is shown in perspective.
The essential feature of our new design is an axle comprising an arched member and a 5 straight member joining each other at their outer ends, the straight member being in two sections with an oval yoke-piece between their adjacent ends.

at C, and recessed on the exterior side, as at C The straight member is in two sections 13 13 the outer ends of which are connected to the union socket-pieces and between their inner adjacent ends is interposed an oval yoke-piece D. The inner adjacent ends of the two portions are also expanded, as at B and recessed, as at B Upon the arched member, near its outer ends, are the crossbearings E E and between these bearings are the socketed collars F.
What is claimed is- The design for a driving-axle for locomobiles, substantially as herein shown and described.
