DESIGN FOR A WAGON-BOX IRON OR CLEAT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,193, dated January 18, 1898.
Application filed December 13, 1897. Serial No. 661,750. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it nmg concern..-
lle it known that I, JOHN O. MINOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baileyville, in the county of Nemaha and State of Kansas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a \Vagon-Box Iron or Cleat; and Ido hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a wagon-box iron or cleat exhibiting my new design looking at it from the inner side. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the same, and Fig. is a perspective view of the same looking at it from its outer side.
The leading features of my design consist of two inclosing walls of considerable dept-h, one of which is practically smooth and the other is formed with crilnped portions forming an open-ended vertical recess or pocket and a downwardly-extending screw-threaded shank-shaped portion.
A in the drawings represents the outer straight wall.
B represents the inner wall, and O C- the crimped-shaped portions thereof forming the vertical recess or pocket D.
E represents the space formed between the walls, and I represents the vertical connecting edge portion.
G represents the downwardly-extending shank-shaped portion and II the screwthreads formed thereon.
I represents transverse openings in the walls.
Having now described my design, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
