Description

12-l1-4. OR D 269895 EX DESIGN.
S. RIGBY. PANEL FOR BICYCLE POSTS.
No. 26,895. atentedApr. 13,1897
UNITED STATES PATENT Orrica SAMUEL RIGBY, OF PEOBIA, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A PANEL FOR BICYCLE-POSTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,895, dated April 13, 1897.
Application filed June 18, 1896, Serial No. 596,068. Term of patent '7 years.
To (LZZ whont it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL RIGBY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Peoria, in the county of Peoria and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Panel for Bicycle-Posts; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to anew and original design for a panel for bicycle-posts, and the following is a brief description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, showing the same.
The figure shows the design applied to bicycle-post.
The leading features of my design consist of the general configuration and the detailed parts that are combined to form the same.
It consists of the side portions, the outside lines of which have a double curve bearing outwardly and inwardly at the opposite extremities of each, having the inside lines curved and bearing inwardly and meeting the inwardly-curved portions of the outside lines to form points, as shown, the spaces between these lines being filled in, as shown, for some distance downwardly from the points. The
inside lines are provided with the offset or angle and caused to cross each other and then bear toward each other in straight lines and then curve and meet, as shown in the drawing, inclosin g a space that is ornamented with three pin-formed figures. A central portion of the design is formed by lines beginning at the points or ends of the outwardly-curved portions of the outside lines which bear toward and cross each other, said lines having a gradual curve. They then bear toward each other again in straight lines for a short distance and then outwardly until they meet to form a point, thus inclosing a space, that portion of which from point or a part of the same being filled in and a row of dots is placed in the remaining spaee, substantially as shown in the drawing.
Having thus fully described my design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a panel for bicycle-posts herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SAMUEL RIGBY. Witnesses:
W. V. TEFFT, CHAS. W. LA Peers.
