UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM II. FULIJINGTON, OF DAYTON, OIIIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN PEG POOL TABLE COMPANY, OF COLUMBUS, OIIIO.
DESIGN FOR A GAME-BOARD.
SPECIFICATION forming partof Design No. 30,379, dated. March 21, 1899.
Application filed February 18, 1899. 'Serial No. 706,081. Term of patent '7 years To all whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, \VILLIAM II. FULLING 'roN, acitizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Game-Board, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which like IO characters refer to corresphinlingly-formed parts.
My invention relates to a design fora pleasure and amusement game-hoard and is fully illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in
which- Figure 1 is a top plan view of a game-board embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a central vertical sectional elevation thereof on line X X of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged similar view thereof on line Y Y of Fig. 1.
In the drawings, 10 represents the game board, provided with vertical projecting flanges on its edges, the flanges on the long edges thereof being straight and having grooves 11 therein on opposite sides of said hoard, thebottom of said grooves 11 being on a level with the top of the board 10. On one of the short ends of said board the flange is curved, and said grooves 11 open toward said curved flange. On the opposite short end of said board the flange is provided on its inner edge with a series of semicircular vertical recesses 12. The edges 13 of the ends of the walls 1+1, which form the inner walls of the 3 5 grooves Ill, are pointed, as shown.
In the center of the width of the gameboard and near its opposite short ends are formed circular openings 15,Figs. 1 and 2, passing through the board 10, and on the under side of said board 10 said openings 15 are 0 provided with an enlarged mouth 16, Fig. 2.
Near the center of the length of the gameboard and near its grooves 11. are circular openings 17, passing through the board 10, and on the bottom of said board said open ings 17 are provided with an enlarged mouth 18, Figs. 1 and Near the curved end flange and adjacent one of the openings 15 is a circular depressed character 19, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The circular openings 15 and 17 and the character 19 are thus arranged to form a diamond within the flanges of the game-board.
The essential feature of my design for a game-board consists of a game-hoard provided with grooves on opposite sides opening at one end toward the curved end wall of said board and a series of circular openings passing through the game-hoard at the corners of and to form a diamond upon the game-hoard within the walls or flanges on the edges of the game-board.
\Vhat I claim is The design fora game-hoard, as shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 11th day of February, 1890.
