Be it known that I, EDWARD KIEFFER GRIEsEMER, of Reading, in the county of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Game Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of my invention is to provide a game apparatus which While simple and durable in its construction will afford amusement and recreation, and which will prove an interesting trial of patience and skill.

The invention consists in the novel construction and combination of the several parts, as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and pointed out in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a plan view of the improved game apparatus. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a section on the line 4 4 of Fig. 1.

The game apparatus consists of a body A of peculiar formation, a cover B, and rolling objects E, adapted to travel upon the bottom surface of the body. The bodyA may be made from one piece of material-as, for example, metal, papier-mach, or the like-and consists of a bottom 10 and a marginal flange 11. The cover B comprises a transparent pane 12, which covers the top portion of the body, and a clamping-band 13, arranged to hold the pane in engagement with the upper edge of the body, the clamping-band ordinarily closely hugging the flange 11 of the body. Upon the inner face of the bottom 10 a series of triangularly-shaped ribs 0 is located, the apices or pointed portions of the ribs being directed to the center of the bottom, the bottom being, preferably, circular. The spaces D Within the ribs 0 constitute a series of chambers, and each chamber has a combined inlet and outlet, which is formed by dividing the base members of the triangular ribs C, which members face the flange 11 of the body. The inner faces of the side members 15 of the ribs are convexed, and the end portions of the ribs at the combined inlets and outlets 14 are rounded off, and the,

said portions of the ribs are much wider than the portions Where the base members connect with the side members, as best shown in Fig. 1. The ribs are substantially inverted- .V-shaped in cross-section, although their upper edges may be of greater or of less width, as desired. At the center of the bottom a depression 16 is formed owing to the grouping and formation of the ribsO, as shown in Figs. 2, 3, and 4, and concaved channels 17 are also formed between the triangular ribs 0, connecting with .the central depression 16 and with a marginal concaved gutter 18.

The rolling objects E preferably employed are balls, and the number of balls used is one more than the number of chambers D. It is the object of the game to place a ball in each chamber D and one in the center of the bottom, the balls having all been assembled in the marginal gutter 18-before the body is manipulated. When a ball is centrally located in each chamber and at a central point on the bottom of the body, the solution of the game will have been accomplished.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A game apparatus consisting of a body and a cover therefor, the body being provided with a series of triangularly-arranged skeleton ribs, the angular portion of the ribs being directed to a central plain surface of the body, the plain surface of the body being uninterrupted between its center and the angular portion of the ribs, the space within each rib forming a chamber, each rib being provided at its base With an opening and an enlargement at each side of the opening, constituting an inlet and an outlet for the chame bers surrounded by the ribs, and rolling objects adapted to travel on the bottom of the body and adapted to be carried one Within each chamber and one at the center of the bottom of the body, as and for the purpose specified.

2. A game apparatus, comprising a body, ribs on the body and forming the Walls of triangular spaces, the several ribs being equidistant one from another, and having their apices pointing to a common center, and the base portions of the ribs being each partially cut away to provide an inlet and outlet for of the ribs being concaved in shape and leading to the central depression, and the space between the bases of the ribs being likewise concaved, forming a gutter communicating with the said channels, of a cover for the body, provided with a transparent pane, and rolling objects held to travel on the bottom portion of the body, as and for the purpose specified.
