DESIGN FOR A BOILER-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,247, dated February 21, 1899. Application filed January 2, 1897. Serial No. 617,849. Term of patent 14 years.
To all when-t it may concern:
Be it known that LEDWARD P. WAGGONER, of Syracuse. in the county of Onondaga, in the State ofNew York, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for a Boiler- Plate, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.
Figures land are respectively front and rear perspective views of a boiler-plate embodying my design, and Fig. 3 is a horizontal section taken on line 3 3, Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists of substantially flat front and rear Walls, the rear wall having a recess in its intermediate and lower parts formed with a substantially horizontal upper edge, and a lower edge extended or curved upwardly from substantially its central portion toward the opposite ends of said upper edge, and top and bottom walls extended or curved toward each other from their central portions and united at the opposite sides of the boiler-plate.

The front and rear walls a a are substantially flat, and their upper and lower portions are provided with circular openings a The recess a is formed with a substantially horizontal upper edge provided with transverse corrugations a and a lower edge a eX- tended or curved upwardly from substantially its central portion toward the opposite ends of said upper edge. The top and bottom walls as a are extended or curved toward each other from substantially their central portions a and are united at the opposite sides a of the boiler-plate. The upper part of the boiler-plate A is provided with passages a which extend from front to rear thereof in substantially horizontal series one above the other and are formed of greater height than Width and with rounding upper and lower ends.
The intermediate and lower parts of the boiler-plateA are provided with substantially rectangular passages or openings a tt ,which are arranged one above the other and extend from the recess a through the front face of said boiler-plate.
A boiler-plate embodying my design presents a characteristic and pleasing appearance.
What I claim is- The design for aboiler-plate, substantially as shown and described.
