UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BAINBRIDGE W. BURDICK, OF ALBANY, NEXV YORK.
DESIGN FOR A FOUNDERS CORE-SUPPORTING SHELL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,763, dated May 31, 1898. Application filed March 4, 1898. Serial No. 672,609. Term of patent 14 years.
To all 107mm it may concern.-
lle it known that I, BAINBRIDGE W. BUR- DICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Founders Core- Snpporting Shells, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accom panying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of a founders core-supporting shell, showing my new design viewed from its outer side. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same viewed from its inner side. Fig. 3 is a view from its lower side.
As shown in the drawings, the leading and material features of my design consist in a shell having the shape or configuration comprising a perforated horizontal circular face side A and a series of lateral sides 13, separated by openings and terminating at their lower ends in angularly-projectcd flanges b, all disposed or arranged as shown, the horizontal circular face side A having a plain flat upper surface bounding its perforation a, as shown in Fig. 1, and the lateral sides 13 havin g their respective outer surfaces convex in a horizontal direction and running vertically from the circumferential line of said circular face side A and terminating in plain flanges b, which have their upper surfaces at an angle to the vertical lines of the convex outer surfaces of said sides B, as shown in Fig. 1. The outer surfaces of the sides B are left plain, and the openings 0, separating said sides, as shown in the several figures, are extended from the lower ends of the latter up to within a short distance from the circumferential line of the horizontal face side A and terminate at the lower edges of the shorter convex lateral side portions B, which respectively are integral with both the horizontal circular face side A and ad joining two lateral sides 13, as shown.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a founders core-supporting shell as herein shown and described.
