WILLIAM L. MONROE AND ISAAC N. SIMPSON, OF OMAHA, NEBRASKA.
DESIGN FOR A WASHING-MACHINE HUB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO.- 35,147, dated October 1, 1901.
Application filed July I 1901. Serial Nb. 66,788- Trm ofpatent 14 years.
To (all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that we, WILLIAM L. MONROE and Isaac N. SIMPSON, citizens of the United States, residing at Omaha, in the county of Douglas and State of Nebraska, have invented and produced a new and original Design for \Vashing-lllachine Hubs; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference be ing had to the accom pan ying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a new and peculiarly shaped hub to be used in conjunction with washing-machine shafts.
In the accompanying drawings we have shown in Figure 1 a perspective View of a washingnnachine hub embodying our invention, while Fig. 2 shows a top view thereof.
In referring to the drawings it will be noticed that our invention relates to a peculiarly constructed and shaped hub and comprises the hub 5 5', which is cast hollow, and from which hub extend the two counterpart circular portions or members at and 4, which members are united by the vertical portion 8 at one point, so that these members or portions 4: and 4' are united as shown. Extending a little more than half-way around the hub 5 5 is the projecting elongated cam portion 6, which extends outward as far as the circular members at and at. Extending from these circular portions 4 and at are the hollow neck portions-3 and 3", which neck por' tions are terminated by the rings or circular projections 2 and 2, as clearly shown in Fig. l. Interiorly these neck portions 5 3 are provided with the inwardly-extending ribs 1) b, as clearly shown.
In referring to the drawings it will be noticed that by virtue of the circular members or portions 4 and t, the vertical connecting portion 8, and the projecting cam portion 6 a continuous runway or groove is provided, as shown. Projecting from this cam' portion 6 are a plurality of projecting pins (t, which pins support the rollers 9, as shown. It will be noticed that these rollers 9 are approximately in the form of truncated cones. In referring to Fig. 2 it will be noticed that these rollers extend a little more than half-way u around the hub.
Having thus described our said invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent, is-
The design for a washing-machine hub, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we affix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM L. MONROE. ISAAC N. SIMPSON.
