DESIGN FOR A CAR-BODY BOLSTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,936, dated January 3, 1899.
Application filed December 13, 1898. Serial No. 699,185. Term ofpatent 14 years.

Be it known that I, EDWARD F. GOLTRA, a citizen of the United States, residing in St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Car-Body Bolsters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to a new and useful design for car-body bolsters and is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 represents a top plan View of a car-body bolster embodying the design. Fig.
2 represents a bottom plan View thereof. Fig.

The main body portion of the bolster comprises the upper fiange a, the lower flange b, the web a, and the central box-like compartment d, so that, as indicated in the sectional Views, the bolster will be of general rectan gular shape in cross-section at its middle portion and of general I-beam shape in cross section at its outer portion. It is deeper at its central or box portion (1 and gradually tapers past the side bearings f toward the ends.
I claim The design for a car-body bolster, substantially as herein shown and described.
