DESIGN FOR ASIDE-BAR SPRING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of I jesign No; 29,579, dated November 1, 1898.
Application fil d December 18, 1896. Seiial'llo. 616,200. Tenn of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN siding at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Side-Bar Springs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear; and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The invention relates to a new and original design for vehicle-springs, and it is embodied in the structure shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is an elevation of the spring embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a cross-section on the line m w of Fig. 1.
The design as depictu red in the accompanying drawings, consists, essentially, of a long spring having a central body portion A,which is oval in cross-section, as shown, while the portions onOpposite ends of the body are bent down on gradual curves, tapered, and flattened, as at B. The extreme end portions of the spring are curved upward and then backward and down, the radius of the curve decreasing and the end terminating in a ring 0.
The essential feature of the design is the long-shape spring having the oval body, tapered flat ends, and the curved extremities, as shown and described.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a spring substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
