DESIGN FOR A BLANK FOR STOCKING-HEEL PROTECTORS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,55 5, dated October 25, 1898.

Application filed August 17, 1898- Berial No. 688,813. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, MARY J. VAN Voonnrs, of Sycamore, county of Wyandot, and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Blank for a Stocking-Heel Protector; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and ex act description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the figures of reference marked thereon, which forms part of this specification.

The class to which this design relates is footwear; and the object is to provide a new and original design for a blank for a stocking-heel protector.

In the drawing the figure is a plan view of the blank.

The leading feature of my design for a blank is a semiorbiculate body portion having a plurality of flaps integral therewith, all of which flaps are formed by incisions into the body portion to a depth that a cord or line being drawn through the transverse diameter of the orbiculate body portion it will be found that all the flaps will project therefrom and upon being curved and secured, as shown, will form a stocking-heel protector of a neat and pleasing appearance, as fully shown in the accompanying drawing.

The inner edges 3 of the flaps are formed to a continuation of the periphery of the orbiculate body portion, the inner edges 4 of the flaps being'also curvilinear and are nearly parallel with the opposite and outer edge.

The flaps 2 are cut to a straight line upon the ends 5. The step-flaps 6 project from the body portion in a central position and extend beyond the side flaps 2, the area of the flaps being a seniicassinian oval formed by difierential ovals, the lines of one oval vanishing in the body portion, the outer oval being bisected to form a straight face edge 7, parallel with the edges 5 of the side flaps 2.

The heel-flaps 8 are formed by curvilinear incisions into the body portion and are located between the side flaps 2, and the stepfiaps 6 are similar in area to the area of an acute leaf.

\Vhat I claim is The design for the blank fora stocking-heel protector, substantially as shown and described.
