(Application filed July 25, 1808.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDGAR A. RUSSELL, OF VVALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A SHADE-HOLDER.
SIfECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 29,224, dated August 16, 1898. Application filed July 25, 1898. Serial No 686,846- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDGAR A. RUSSELL, of \Vallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new Design for a Shade-Holder for Incandescent Electric Lamps; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in-
Figure 1, a plan view of the shade-holder embodying my design; Fig. 2, a view thereof in side elevation.
This invention relates to a design for a shade-holder for incandescent electric lamps; and the design consists in the configuration hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
As herein shown, my newly-produced design consists of an open ring A, the two arms of which correspond to each other in length, and are furnished at their outer ends with corresponding fingers A A. This ring is located centrally above an annular rim B, having a depending annular flange B, formed with depending perforated lugs B The rim B is connected with the lower edge of the middle portion of the ring by a horizontally-arranged inwardly-extending web C. A finger D, arranged between the fingers A and A,is located in a plane parallel with the planes thereof and coincident with a plane intersecting the true center of the ring A and the longitudinal center of the web C. The said finger D extends upward from a horizontallyarranged inwardly-projecting arm D, extending inward from the rim B and located nearly opposite the web C. The rim B is virtually encircled by a rib E, the ends of which are turned inward to follow the edges of the web 0 and so as to form hook-like extensions E E. The arm D is formed with a V-shaped gib E the ends of which merge into the rib E.
I claim The design herein shown and described for the shade holder for incandescent electric lamps.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EDGAR A. RUSSELL. Witnesses:
