SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,808, dated July 21, 1896. Application filed April 13, 1896. Serial No. 587,432. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HOWARD E. \VATKINS, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Gas and Electric Light Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accoinpanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in Which- Figure 1 represents an elevation of a chandelier embodying my design, and Fig. 2 a cross-section taken on either of the lines 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The leading features of my design relate to the canopy and t0 the body-shell technically so called ,said canopy and said body-shell having thereon a series of concave depressions with alternating flat or slightly-curved facets.
Referring to Fig. 1, A is the main stem of a pendent fixture ordinarily known as a chandelier. This stem is not shown in its full length, as is indicated by the part broken away. B is the canopy. D is the body-shell of the fixture. E is one of the arms of the fixture, which, however, is not a part of the design.
The body-shell D comprises the central part or zone F, the upper part G, of a generally conical shape, and the lower part II, of a generally conical shape, but longer than the part G.
The parts F, G, and H are formed with a series of concave depressions I, with alternatin g flat or slightly-curved facets J ,as shown in Fig. 2. The canopy B is also provided with a series of concave depressions, and with alternating fiat or slightly-curved facets.
K is the representation of a conventional scroll or ornamentation formed in or on one of the concave depressions, but which is not a part of the design.

W'hat I claim is- The design for a gas or electric light fixture, substantially as shown and described.
