To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EUGENE F. LONG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Scranton, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Miners Lamp; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Myinvention relates to a new and original design for a miners lamp; and it consists of a lamp of the configuration shown in the accompanying drawing, in which I have represented the same in side elevation.
The leading features of this design consist of a body 1, having on its rear side a curved bulge or hump a, terminating in a contracted mouth I), having an n pwardly-extendin g wicktube 2, formed integral with the body and connected therewith by a curved brace c, the annular base-supporting ring 3, formed with an elongated loop-handle 4, the hook 5, provided with a hub 6, and the cover 7, said cover being dome-shaped and the wick-tube being of equal diameter from end to end. A brace c is connected at its lower end to the exterior of the rim of the mouth of the lamp, curves slightly downwardly, and then extends up along the adjacent outside surface of the wick-tube clear to the top of the latter and serves as a strengthening-brace for the wicktube 2.
That I claim is- The design for a miners lamp as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
EUGENE F. LONG.
