TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, ELIZABETH HIMES, of the city of' New Albany, in the county of Floyd, and State of Indiana., have invented a new. and original Design for Relieetors; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making partpf this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a front elevation of a. reflector constructed after my new design.
Figure 2 is section of the same in line of its diameter.
' Like letters of reference designate similar parts in both figures.
My invention consists in attaching a. burnished plate, of star form, to the convex central portion of reflectors, more especially such as are employed in the illumination of buildings, the form of which, when luminous, causes it to present a. highly ornamental and brilliant appearance.
In the drawings, a a represents the planes arranged radially, which form the outer portion of the reector, 6, the convex central portion, and c the stanformed plate secured thereto, as clearly shown in iig. 1. D is a. ring or bracket for supporting a lamp, the body of which fits therein in the ordinary manner.
The face of the star e may be plated or made of the seme metal as the other portion of the reflector, or it may be constructed of some other kind of metal, so as to present a different complexion, the difference in the tint or color of which renders its outlines more distinct, and causes it to appear more in relief, which greatly increases its ornamental effect. i
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for reflectors herein described and shoivn..
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
` ELIZABETH HIMES.
Witnesses:
N. H. COBB, PETER R. SToY.
