DESIGN POR BAPTISMAL FONT.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
T o all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL C. RIPLEY, of Birmingham borough, in the. county of Allegheny, and State ot' Pennsylvania., have invented a new and useful Design; and I do hereby declare the following to be. a full, clear, and exact description thereof', reference heing had to the accompanying drawing, t'orlning a part of my specification, which represents a front elevation of niy improved design, which design consistsin afont, bowl, or basin, mounted on a. foot or stem between arms extending out radially, such arms being intended for use as Candlesticks or Ianni-stands.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe the Sallie.
In connection with the religious exercises of some churches, a. l'ont, or bowl is desired for baptismal or other sacred uses, and in the saine connection, sonictinies the burning of candles or tapers is obligatory For these nses I make a support. of' any suitable character, terminating at its upper end in a steln, b, and cause. such stein to branch t'roni at or near its npper end, into arms a aI ot' any desired length, their outer ends being titted with sockets c c for candles or tapers, orotherwise adapted for use with suitable means of illumination.
Between these arms, and on or directly over the stem b, I mount a bowl, d, of' any desired form, which is designed for use as a baptismal font, or for other like uses. On this a. cover, d', may be used, it' so desired.
The parts named are piessed from glass, or blown and pressed in any of the ways known to the art.
Any suitable style of ornamentation may be pressed, cut, or engraved on the bowl.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The iniprm'ed design, consisting of a bowl, font, or basin, arranged on a stem or base, and between ladially direrging arms, substantially as described and shown.
