TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, AUGUST WXLHELM, of the city of Philadelphia., in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented or produced n new and original Design for a. Light-Reflector for Lamps, Street-Lanterns, &c., of which the following is a clear and exact; description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, marking n. part of this description, and to the letters of reference marked thereon. Referring to the drawings- Figure 1 is n front representation of the reflector, and

The inside or reticcting-surfnces of a a and a b a, b are each parts of hyperbolic curves, arranged in relation to each other :1s shown in the drawings. The intersections of the faint lines radiating from the points :1: y a; z give the form required for the respective reecting-surt`nces ofthe reflector, a a, a b, a b, and also the resultant directions of the rays of light coming from z. The said radiating lines are merely illustrative of the' forms of the reflecting-surfaces of the reiiector, and of their relation to each other, as shown, and therefore form no part of the design; but having shown and described the pnrtiular form of the reeetor, a a, a b, a
