DESIGN FOR A TACKLE-BLOCK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,950, dated December 7, 1897.
Application filed August 18, 1897- Serial No. 648,729. Term of patent 14 years.
To ali whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS R. FERRALL, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Somerville, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced anewand original Design for a Tackle- Block, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accom panying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a tackle-block, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is an end view thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading feature of my design consists in the cheek-pieces of the block, elliptical in contou1,with the ends extending substantially to a point, the cheekpieces having a circular ornamentation.
Referring particularly to the drawings, the cheek-pieces are shown as having their opposite edges l and 2 curved outward from end to end, with lthe meeting ends forming points 3 at the ends of the block. At approximately lhe center of the cheek pieces concentric rings are formed, and, as clearly shown in Fig. Q, the edges are transversely rounded or beveled, and in Fig. 2 it will also be seen that. a head-bloek 1 is arranged between the cheekpieces, but it is of less width than the cheekpieces.
I claim- The design for a tackle-bleek as herein shown and described.
THOMAS R. FERRALL.
