UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN J. BECKER, OF FORT \VAYNE, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR A NAME-PLATE AND CARD-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,564, dated August 24, 1897.
Application filed June 29,1897. Serial No. 642,881- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may OOILGBI'IL.
Be it known that I, JOHN J. BECKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fort \Vayne, in the county of Allen and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Name-Plate and (lard-l lolder; and I do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the aceompanying drawingsfiorming apart thereof.
My invention relates to a new and original design for a name'plate and card-holder which will possess advantages in points of eftieicncy, which will be ornamental and useful, and which will be thoroughly understood when the following description is taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 represents a front plan view of my name-plate and card-holder, and Fig. 2 represents a Vertical central sectional view thereof, taken on line .r a of Fig. 1.
In the drawings, the letter A designates the base of my name-plate and card-holder, which is of rectangular form and formed at the top and bottom with the rounded lugs or projections 11, through which are the openings C for securing the plate to any desired place, and these projections 13 have their sides curving outward to the corner of the base to form the pointed corners I). In the upper portion of the base is an opening E, whose edges F are raised, as shown in Fig. 2, in order that a name-plate may be inserted, and in the lower portion of the base is the inverted- U shaped opening G, which nearly surrounds the tongue or raised portion II. This raised portion 1[ is bent or pressed outward, as clearly shown in Fig. 2, in order that a card, let ter, or any other paper or the like may be placed between its back and the portions of the base surrounding the inverted-U- shaped opening.
From the foregoing deseription and draw ings it will be seen that I provide a nameplate and card-holder in one article which is ornamental, very simple and cheap, and which is useful for the intended purposes.
I claim- The design fora name-plate and card-holder herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I atfix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN J. BECKER.
