DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,081, dated May 18, 1897.

To all whom zit may concern:

Be it known that I, ANNA K. MAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia. and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.

The leading feature of my design comprises stripes and dots.

In the drawing, a is the body, I) the border, and a b the complete carpet.

c are the stripes.

d are the dots.

The dots are arranged in generally reetangular forms with little figures dropped into each and the ground is well covered with the stripes.

The design of my invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawing, and it may be expressed in different colors or combinations of colors and applied to vcl\'et,\\'ilton, Brussels, ingrain, and other carpets.

\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design foracarpet, the body a, substantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border Z), substantially as shown.

The design fora carpet consisting of the body a, and border 12, substantially as shown.
