DESIGN FOR CANE FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,859, dated March 30, 1897'. Application filed February 18, 1897. Serial No. 624,052. Term of patent Si years.

Beit known that I, EDMUND MORRIS, a citien of the United States, residing in Michigan City, in the county of La Porte and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane Fabric, of which the following is a specification, and which is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, showing a face View of a small piece of fabric with my design applied.
Cane fabric containing my design has al ternate close-Woven and open-mesh stripes A and B, the latter of which contain polygonal igures and star-shaped figures. Each stripe A is made up of a series of parallel strips a, arranged close together and divided up into short lengths or sections a' by a series of cross-strips a2. Each stripe B has a series of pairs of stri ps b,whieh forni een tin nations of the cross-strips a2 and which, with zo the strips I1', running at right angles to them, and the diagonal strips b2, form a series of polygonal figures The diagonal strips b2 are striped, cross each other, and forni in the fabric a series of star-shaped figures y.
The leading feature of my design is the alternately-arranged close-woven and open mesh stripes, the latter of which contain polygonal figures and star-shaped figures.
I claim- The design for cane fabric, substantiall y as herein shown and described.
