SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,856, dated March 30, 1897.

Ile i1, known that {,lmir'xn Mouais, a eili zen of the l'nilied Slales, residingaiJ Michigan (lily, in the County of La lorie and Stale of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane Fabrie, of which lLhe following is a specification, and which is illustrated in lLhe aeeompanuving drawing, showinga faee view of a small pieeeof fabric with in v design applied.
Cane fabric Containing my design has altemately-arranged narrow close-woven and wideepen mesh stripes A and I5. Each stripe A is made up of a series of parallel strips a, arranged close together and divided up into short lengths or sections n by a series of cressstrips a2. Each stripe I3 has a series 0f pairs 0f parallel strips b running parallel with the stripe A, but Separated from eaeh other by regular distances. Each stripe B has also a series of pairs of strips b', which form eentinuatiens of the cross-strips a2, and which,
witih the strips I and dingenallyarranged strips IF, prodnee in the slripe l) a series of rows of eeliagl'mal ligfilres .1'.
The leading feninl'e of niv design is Lhealternately-arranged narrow close-woven and wide-open mesh stripes A and Il, iihe former made up of parallel sli-ips arranged close logelher and divided up into short sections by eross strips and the lattercontaining two series of pairs of strips arranged at right an gies to eaeh other and crossed by diagonal strips, which thus produce a series 0f rows 0f eetagonal figures.
I claim- The design for cane fabi-ie, substantially as herein shown and described.
