DESIGN FOR A TAPPlNG-HAMMER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,638, dated February 16, 1897.
Application filed December 26, 1896. Serial No. 617,102. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN B. MEIER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Port Huron, in the county of St. Clair and State 3f Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Tapping-Hammer; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accom panying drawings, forming a part thereof.
My invention relates to a design for a tap ping-hammer for tapping beer-kegs.
It relates to the entire configuration of the hammer.
My invention relates particularly to a tapping-hammer as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in Which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a tappinghammer embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a transverse section, and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section of the same.
In the accompanying drawings the same reference-numerals indicate the same parts of the invention.
The leading features of my design for a tapping-hammer appear in the following description.
1 represents a tapering cylindrical head, on the larger end of which appears an annular semicircular bead 2, while the smaller end shows an. annular right-angular shoulder 3, and a straight portion 4, terminating in a transverse face 5, which forms the hammerhead.
6 represents a radial groove extending longitudinally the entire length of the hammer. The bottom or pocketG of this groove is semicircular, as shown.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patentof the United States, is-
The design for a tapping-hammer, substantially as shown and described.
