Be it known that I, TRISTRAM D. BROWN, :1. oitizenof the United States, residingat Carrandaigna, in the county of Ontario and State of New York, have invented and produced anew and original Design fora Bail-Ear; and I do herehydeelare thefollowing to hea full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accom 'mnying d rawings, forming a part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of the hail-ear. Fig. 52 is a sectional View of the ear.
The leading features of my design consist in two parts set at an angle to each other, one part being substantially oval in shape and the other part being in the shape of a conventionalized clover leaf, 3 web extending into each part, and the indentations in the oval shaped part, all as shown in Fig.1 ofthe drawings.
The ear is made of a. single piece of sheet metal pressed into the desired shape. The part 1, is made in the shape of a convention alized clover leaf, with a perforation Lin each leaf. The part 3, is so hstan tialiy oval in shape, and is set at an angle to the part 1. Part 3, is provided with a perforation 4, and the indentations 5, 5, one on each side of the perforation 11-, and a little below the same. The web 6, is pressed in the metal and extends well into each of the said parts 1, and 3.
