SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 372,813, dated November 8, 1887.
Application filed August 2, 1887. Serial No. 245,914. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, THOMAS MoRRIs, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ourt-ainflole Rings, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide-a new and improved curtain-pole ring which is simple in construction, strong, durable, and cheap.
The invention consists of a metal ring made flat in the direction of its axis and having part forced out of its periphery to form a loop extending in the direction of the axis of the ring, the ring and loop being made integral.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a side View ofmy improved curtain-pole ring. Fig. 2 is a sectional view at right angles to the axis. Fig. 3 is a sectional view parallel with the axis. Fig. 4. is a face view of the part provided with the loop.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The sheet-metal ring A is made flat in the direction of its axis. By means of a suitable implement or die part of the metal is forced outward from the periphery of the ring and forms the loop B parallel with the longitudinal axis of the ring. At each side of said loop part of the metal of the ring is forced inward, 0
from the outer surface of the ring and forming 40 a loop or eye, substantially as herein shown and described.
2. A curtain-pole ring made of sheet metal and having part forced out to form a loop parallel with the axis of the ring, those parts loop being forced inward to increase the size of the loop, substantially as herein shown and described.
45 of the ring adjacent to the side edges of the In testimony that I claim the foregoing as 0 my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
