CASE FOR CASH FARE REGISTERS.
No 23,563. Patented Aug. 14,1894.
Wms w: A
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN B. KING AND GEORGE W. CARHART, OF BATII BEACH, NE? YORK.
DESIGN FOR A CASE FOR CASH FARE-REGISTERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,563, dated August 14, 1894.
Application filed July 21I 1894. Serial No. 518.274. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, JOHN B. KING and GEORGE W. CARHART, citizens of the United States, residing at Bath Beach, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cases for Cash Fare-Registers, of which the following is a specification.
The invention consists in the new and original shape or configuration of such a case as hereinafter particularly described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which shows a view of such a case in perspective.
In general terms the design presents a Hat top, curved ends and a compound curved bottomorundersurface. Aprojectingcurved surface is also interposed between the flat top and one of the curved ends, being a curve which continued, would intersect both the flat top and the curved end. The sides are flat and parallel and are bounded by the straight and curved lines which form the edges of the top and bottom. The curves which form the ends are segments of circles and are extended to form a portion of the bottom, which is completed by a third curve, interposed between and forming a continuation of these and being curved upwardly.
The design can be best understood by referring to the accompanying drawing in which A represents the flat top of the case which is substantially a plane, having straight parallel edges a, a.
B is one of the sides of the case which has a Hat surface. It is bounded above by the line a forming one of the straight edges of the top A, and at the ends by the curves E and O, which are segments of circles, and which extended form a portion of the bounding line of the lower edge of the side B,which is completed by the curved line D, which curves upwardly and forms a continuation of the curves E O.
The curved line F, interposed between the straight line a and the curve C, and which extended, would intersect both, also forms a part of the bounding line of the side B. The side of the case opposite to the side B, and not shown in the drawing is parallel to the side B and precisely similar thereto in shape. The end and under faces of the case have the shape given by connecting the corresponding bounding lines of the two sides.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patout, is-
The design for a cash fare register case, sub stantially as described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
In testimony whereof we have hereto set our hands in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN B. KING. GEO. W. OARHART.
