SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,313, dated May 29, 1894. Application filed March 30,1894. `Serial No. 505,776. Term of patent 7 years.
all whom, it may concern:
. I Be it known that I, HENRY BERRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Shelton, in the township of Huntington, county of Fairfield, State of Connecticut, haveinvented and produced a new and original Design for a Bowl or other Articles, ot which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof, and in whichispresented a perspective view of a bowl bearing and incorporating my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in the ornamental form and configuration of the bowl and the ornamentation applied thereon substantially as shown in the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing A designates the body of the bowl which has an expanded or convex lower portion designated by the letter B and a vertical contracted upper portion C, the latter being encircled by the band of conventionalized oral and foliate ornamental scroll decoration D.
The form or outline of the bowl is distinctive in the ornate eiect produced by the eX- tent and relative proportions of the upper portion lettered C and the lower portion lettered B, and the graceful rounding of the lower part of the portion B and inward curving of the upper part of the portion Bto meet 3o the upper portion C, as illustrated in the drawing.
Upon the bowl is the cover E having a plain outer rim I, above which is the beading J, and
elevated center K bearing scroll ornamenta- 3 5 tion and having at its center the elevated ornate knob or handle F.
In the drawing by dotted lines are indicated a handle and spout, with which elements the bowl should be provided when it 4o is to be used for holding tea, coffee or cream.
Vhat I claim is- The design for a bowl and other articles, substantially as shown and described.
