DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,121, dated March 20, 1894.
Application filed November 24, 1893. Serial No. 491.889. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, WALLACE DURAND, of Newark, Essex county, and State of New Jcrsey, have invented acertain new and original Design forSpoons and Like Articles, of which the following is a specification.
I have illustrated my design in a spoon, the drawing being a front view thereof.
The shank A of the handle, is shown as widened out near the bowl, and as being ornamented at its junction with the bowl by the representation of a flower B, represented as a violet. At the junction of the shank proper with the handle portion are two scroll figures a, a, representing the edge of a piece of thin material turned inward like a scroll. The handle portion, 0, where it joins the shank portion, has scroll figures 0, 0*, representing the edge of a. thin piece of material rolled inward like a scroll. From the scroll figures c',c extend along the edge portion of the handle,twofoliateligurescfic". llcyondtheseare roll beads or fillets c", 0 having foliate portions 0 c, and terminating in scroll figures c", c, representing the edge of a thin piece of material turned inward like a scroll. Intermediate of the scroll-figures u, a and c, r are ball-shaped figures 1), I1 At the extremity is a ball like figure 0''.
On the handle portion is a figure of the head of a rain.
\Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a spoon or like article, substantially as shown and described.
