DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
' SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,645, dated May 2, 1899.
Application filed March 21, 1899. Serial No. 709,986- Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MARTIN T. GRAF, a citizen ot the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York,
: have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, referones being had to the accom panying drawing, forming a part thereof.
This design relates to the configuration and ornamentation of a badge, button, or similar article.
The accom pan yingdrawin g is a face view of a badge or button embodying my design.
The leading feature of my design consists of a background or support of substantially oblong form having rounded upper corners, sharp lower corners, and a straight bar or projection extending upwardly from the upper central portion of the background in resemblauce of the outlines of a dust-pan and the representation of an eagle with displayed wings and holding a bunch of arrows in its talons, located upon the flat front side of the 2 5 background.
Referring to the drawing, A is the flat substantially oblong body forming the background of the badge and having the rounded upper corners, sharp lower corners, and concaved or inwardly-curved lateral edges, as shown in the drawing.
B is the bar which projects upwardly from the upper middle portion of the body A.
C is the representation of an eagle with outspread displayed win s arranged on the flat body portion A, and g of a bunch of arrows, represented as being held in the talons of the eagle.
