DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,296, dated January 12, 1892.
Application filed May 9, 1891. Serial No. 392,249. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. JAMOUNEAU, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Handles for Spoons and other Articles of Flat W'are; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked tl1ereon,which form a part of this specification.
The figure of the drawing is a front plan of a spoon with a handle of my design, of which the following is a specification, the one figure being deemed snflicient to fullyillnstrate the same.
The leading feature of the design consists in the handle for spoons or similar articles, having the shape and ornamentation shown.
In said drawing, a indicates the bowl of a spoon, b the narrow shank, and c the broad and substantially fiat extremity. (Z is an ornamental representation of an alligator or crocodile on the flat face of said shank and bread or flange-like extremity, the said shank tapering or broadening into flange-like part in correspondence with the taper of the tail and body, as indicated.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for the handle fora spoon or similar article, having the shape and ornamentation shown and described.
