SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,788, dated September 19, 1893. Application filed August 17, 1893. Serial No, 483,415- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES H. FERNALD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ayer, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Celluloid Sheet, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, illustrating my design, in which- Figure 1 is a view of a celluloid sheet having its edge or border made in accordance with my design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same. Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical section of the same.
The leading feature of my design for a celluloid sheet is the border of the same which consists of a fluted edge of peculiar shape lying substantially in the plane of the body of the sheet and presenting a pleasing and attractive appearance.
In the drawings, A designates a sheet of celluloid having a border or edge B fluted substantially in the plane of the body of the sheet in accordance with my design. As shown, the extreme outer edge e of the fluted border, which presents a series of curves arranged in serpentine f0rm,is alternately above and below the plane of the body of the sheet, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, while the inner edge of said fluted border meets or coincides with the plane of the sheet at d along its entire length, the appearance of such a sheet when used for a variety of purposes such as booklet covers, cards, ladies belts, &c., being exceedingly unique and very ornamental and attractive.
hat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a celluloid sheet, substantially as herein shown and described.
