DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,900, dated June 10, 1890. Application filed April 24, 1890. Serial No. 349,378- Term of patent 7 years. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, ANDREW KROUSE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane and Umbrella Handles; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration, forming a part thereof, showing both sides of a cane, umbrella, or similarhandle ornamented according to my new design.
The leading feature of my design consists of raised figures on the handle representing certain conventionalized emblems, as links, scales, clasped hands, tent, bee-hive, an allseeing eye, &c., these raised figures covering more or less completely the surface of bothsides of the handle,substantially as shown in the illustration, The raised figures a are represented as having smooth surfaces, while the depressed portions 1) are roughened or frosted to give a contrasting appearance.
I claim The design for the ornamentation of cane and similar handles, substantially as shown and described.
